Ozone make very good parawings, and I’d put them among the best-established choices available in 2026.
Why Ozone is good at parawings
Ozone has a long background in paragliders and foil kites, so canopy stability, bridling and aerodynamic efficiency are areas where they have substantial experience. Their Pocket Rocket was already highly regarded, and the new Pocket Rocket V2 incorporates development from the PowerPack
Ozone has two different personalities:
PowerPack 
→ maximum simplicity, low-end grunt, downwind pull and rapid stash/redeploy.
Pocket Rocket V2
→ faster, better upwind, better powered performance and more versatile for riding both directions.
For Canterbury, I’d choose the Ozone Pocket Rocket V2 over the PowerPack—especially for riding Lyttelton Harbour:
Christchurch/Canterbury, variable/gusty wind, riding upwind and then using harbour swell downwind.
Ozone’s own comparison makes the distinction quite clear: the PowerPack is better for stash-and-glide/downwind riding, while the Pocket Rocket V2 is substantially better upwind and has the larger overall performance range.

Why I favour the Pocket Rocket V2
Canterbury is not simply a "get on foil and go downwind" environment. Around the Christchurch area, being able to make ground upwind efficiently is extremely useful. The Pocket Rocket V2 sits further forward in the window and drives harder upwind; Ozone specifically says it has "excellent upwind performance" and a bigger range.
The V2 has also borrowed several of the PowerPack's best features: shorter bridles, Bow Bar, more compact shape and easier stashing. So you're getting much of the PowerPack's convenience without giving up the Pocket Rocket's upwind advantage.
Pocket Rocket V2 as ideal for Canterbury conditions, specifically mentioning harbour riding, going upwind and then enjoying the downwind harbour swells.
Where the PowerPack wins
I'd choose the PowerPack instead if your riding is primarily:
launch → get on foil → head downwind → ride swell → stash the parawing.
It has more immediate "grunt", excellent downwind pull, and is lighter/smaller and faster to stash and redeploy. Ozone rates it 10/10 for downwind and stashability, versus 7/10 for the Pocket Rocket V2 in those categories.
An independent comparison makes the distinction nicely: the PowerPack is the better choice for predominantly downwind riders, while the Pocket Rocket suits riders who keep the wing out and ride upwind and downwind repeatedly.
For 85 kg rider....
I'd go:
🏆 Pocket Rocket V2 4.3 m² — best single Canterbury size
Then, if building a quiver:
- 5.0 m² — lighter Canterbury days
- 4.3 m² — main workhorse
- 3.6 m² — strong/gusty days
Ozone's published V2 range goes from 1.9 to 5.7 m², with the 5.7 being a new addition for very light wind.
Bottom line: For Canterbury + 85 kg + upwind to downwind harbour riding, I'd spend the extra money on the Pocket Rocket V2. The PowerPack is the better specialist downwind/stash-and-glide tool; the PR V2 is the better all-round Canterbury parawing.
